Construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall has opened a base in Cumbria as it targets a range of projects in the region.
The company, which has offices in Manchester and Liverpool, has moved into space at Westlakes Science and Technology Park in Whitehaven.
The company, which this month completed the £5.5m construction of the Dalton Cumbrian Facility (DCF) nuclear research centre in Whitehaven, is currently bidding for the Sellafield Infrastructure Strategic Alliance, a £1.1bn framework which will involve major infrastructure projects.
In addition to constructing the DCF for the University of Manchester, Morgan Sindall also carried out two bridge construction projects in Workington for Cumbria County Council following the floods in 2009. The group's Cumbrian team will be led by Andy Crowder.
