New Associate for David Allen

David Allan have announced that Michael Peile has been named associate at the accountancy firm, 10 years after he joined on a two-week placement as a 16-year-old.

Michael’s parents, who are farmers at Blencogo, near Wigton, were clients of David Allen’s and on a visit to the family farm, David got chatting to a young Michael.
Michael was doing his GCSEs at the time and when asked what he wanted to do and if he’d considered accountancy, he was offered a work placement and it all went from there.

Michael, who now lives at Fletchertown, went on to complete his AAT and chartered accountancy qualifications before becoming an agricultural and business specialist.  Michael said: “I’m thrilled to be made an associate.  It’s great to have the opportunity to move up in the firm.  David has always taken an interest in my progress and I’m very grateful for that."

Sandra Gowling, agricultural partner at David Allen said: “Michael is a highly regarded agricultural specialist and his appointment to associate is a fantastic achievement.  Since joining the firm, he has developed his technical expertise and commercial acumen to enable him to help our clients drive their business forward.  His experience, dedication and commitment has been invaluable.  He is very down to earth and focused on helping his clients.  As a business we want to support local people and retain talent like Michael’s in Cumbria."
