Stobart airport opens gateway to USA

Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann has launched  a new daily route between the Stobart operated  London Southend and Dublin offering access to Ireland’s capital but also transatlantic connectivity to the U.S.A. From May 10 Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann will fly three daily return services between London Southend and Dublin offering an important new business and tourism link between Essex, East London and Ireland.

With this new service, the people of Essex and East London will be able to take advantage of transatlantic connections through Dublin on Aer Lingus flights to New York, Boston, Chicago and Orlando.

Passengers will also benefit from the unique US Customs and Immigrations pre-clearance facilities at Dublin Airport that will allow them to arrive in the US as domestic passengers.

Commenting on the new route Aer Arann’s Interim Chief Executive Sean Brogan today said, “The introduction of our new competitive London Southend-Dublin service illustrates the success of the franchise operation. We are confident that this route will drive traffic from Dublin into London Southend and its surrounding catchment area benefiting local tourism. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board our convenient London Southend-Dublin services from 10th May.”

Passengers travelling from London Southend Airport to Dublin with Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann will benefit from the exceptional convenience that the redeveloped London Southend Airport has to offer and which is aimed at saving customers time and money:

• 15 minutes from ‘plane to train’ platform with cabin baggage
• No more than 4 minutes queuing to security processing
• 8 trains per hour at peak times
• Approx 50 minutes direct railway transfer to London Liverpool Street station
• Approx 40 minutes direct railway transfer to Stratford (London Olympic Village)

With its extended runway, new fly through terminal, new railway fewer than 100 paces from the terminal entrance and a Holiday Inn nearing completion, London Southend Airport has many advantages to entice the business and leisure customer.
