A team of young apprentices from Cumbria represented Balfour Beatty at the final of the ‘Apprentice Team of the Year’ competition at Lake Windermere.
The team went head to head against seven other teams from the UK’s leading employers, including Virgin Media, Bentley and MBDA Missile Systems, finishing in the top three.
The Challenge pitted eight teams of apprentices against each other in a range of challenges designed to test young people’s business acumen, team working and even physical endurance.
Teams competing were from Balfour Beatty (3rd), Bentley Motors, aerospace firm Cobham (1st), the Co-operative, MBDA Missile Systems (2nd), the National Apprenticeship Service, Rolls-Royce and Virgin Media.
