The Centre for Leadership Performance will welcome its next guest speaker – Mishal Kanoo on April 24 at Energus.
A frequent speaker at conferences in the Gulf and across the world, Mishal rarely speaks in the UK, but at the invitation of CfLP, is delighted to visit Cumbria and share his knowledge on Leadership and the theme of Collaboration. This rare and exciting opportunity for businesses and residents of the region should not be missed.
This free event will run from 10.30am until 12 noon followed by lunch.
Mishal Kanoo is Deputy Chairman of The Kanoo Group – one of the largest, independent, family-owned group of companies in the Gulf region, with diversified interests in: Shipping, Travel, Machinery, Logistics, Oil & Gas, Power, Chemicals, Joint Ventures, Retail and Commercial Activities amongst others. Mishal was educated in Dubai, and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of St Thomas, Houston, Texas.
An incredibly successful businessman, Mishal started his professional experience with Arthur Andersen in Dubai as an Auditor before taking up his current position in 1997. He has also overseen the activity of many other prominent companies in the Gulf region and the world, in the capacity of Director or Chairman, including: AXA Insurance, Dubai Express LLC, Johnsons Arabia LLC, BASF Kanoo Polyurethanes LLC and United Arab Chemical Company to name but a few.
Mishal is also currently a visiting lecturer at The American University of Sharjah, School of Business and Management, as well as writing columns for Gulf Business, Arabian Business, 7 Days and SME magazines.
Mishal has a wide-ranging knowledge of regional business affairs and global capital markets and is a strong advocate of education. He believes that it allows people to take responsibility and control of their lives. His guiding philosophy is a deep belief in honesty and looking ahead in life.
Mishal describes himself as a loving father, a caring husband, and determined teacher.
Being one of the Middle East's best known business people and Deputy Chairman of Kanoo Industries, Mishal will draw upon his own experiences of collaboration – with one of the largest family businesses in the Gulf – and discuss the importance of collaboration for business success.
