System Training partner with international retailer Aldi to provide warehousing apprenticeship

Following the success of the Eddie Stobart apprenticeship programme Carlisle based Systems Training  are now embarking on the next apprenticeship partnership with the international retailer, Aldi.

Aldi have committed to a 4 year pilot scheme to begin a Warehouse and Storage apprenticeship with Systems delivering the training. They began work with Aldi to ensure our training was tailored to meet all their business and warehousing needs, once both sides were happy it was then time to recruit the apprentices.

On the 9th of July at the Aldi training centre in Manchester the doors opened to nine potential applicants. The nine hopefuls were subject to various rounds of assessment and interviews with System Training staff, Jayne Wilson, Simon Richards, Michael James, Suhail Rafik and Lee Deburghhemming from Aldi.Out of the nine potential applicants, three lucky individuals were selected to begin their employment with Aldi, working in the position of Selector Role.

The pilot scheme is set to go live on August the 6th 2012, and apprentices will begin their training. During the first year the apprentices will predominantly be trained to RTITB accredited standards for Fork Lift Truck (FLT), incorporating the familiarisation of their trucks/forks into the programme. In addition to providing the required training to operate their FLT System Taining will also provide the apprentices with important environmental training that will ensure they are equipped for all situations. This includes First Aid, Health & Safety and Manual Handling, all of which will help develop the apprentices for their future career in Warehouse and Storage.
