It’s time to vote for your favourite tourism event

Cumbria Tourism - the county’s official destination marketing organisation - is asking the public to help decide the winner of this year’s Tourism Event of the Year, by voting for their favourite shortlisted event at the 2017 Cumbria Tourism Awards.You can vote online via golakes the official visitor website for the county here

The four shortlisted events are as follows:

The Winter Droving, Eden Arts
Go Herdwick Public Art Trail, The Lake District Calvert Trust
Where is Peter Rabbit Production, World of Beatrix Potter Attraction
Beatrix Potter 150th Anniversary Programme, The National Trust

Voting closes on Monday 5th June, when all the votes will be counted and the awards panel, along with the event applications decide the winner. The shortlisted event finalists all gather with the other 16 award category finalists, at the celebratory evening at Cartmel Racecourse on the 21st June 2017.

We are delighted to announce that Cally Beaton, a woman of many talents, including comedian, Viacom International Senior Vice-President, founder of Road Trip Media, executive coach and single parent to two teenagers will present the winners with their awards on the night.

Cally Beaton, host of the 2017 Cumbria Tourism Awards says:“I am thrilled to be hosting such a prestigious awards ceremony for Cumbria and look forward to meeting the very best of the county’s tourism businesses. The area is renowned for its fantastic hospitality, local delicacies and of course its stunning scenery - and I am personally very excited to be sampling it for myself. Good luck to all the businesses involved and I will see you all on the 21st June.”

The finale to the evening is a delicious three course dinner and wine by Campbell & Rowley Catering and Events. Limited tickets are still available to join Cally and hundreds of tourism professionals representing businesses from around the county and support fellow colleagues who will be competing for the honour of being recognised as the best in Cumbria in their respective category.
