Appleby Rotary Club are on the lookout for a new home for its successful long running second hand bookshop as the current home, which is located above the Lady Anne’s Pantry in Bridge Street, Appleby has to be vacated by the end of October.
The bookshop has been at the Lady Anne’s Pantry for a period of several years during this time many thousand’s of pounds has been raised which has all gone to Local, National and International charities.
The Club secretary is now on the look-out for an alternative low cost space in the town centre which could be used to carry on the sale of books in order to keep funds coming in, please contact 017683 51378 with any information.
Martin Stephenson, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Appleby said: “ Not only have books been gratefully received the Rotary Club has also collected old spectacles and sent them to third world countries to be re used.
“A special thanks needs to go to members of the public who over the past several years have supported this project and donated books and bought books! In addition a very great thanks needs to go to Mr.& Mrs A. Bell who have allowed the Rotary Club to use the space at Lady Anne’s Pantry free form rent over this extended period of time.”
