Rotary step in to help pre-school

Yanwath Pre-School Nursery is situated in a rural setting, on the outskirts of Yanwath village, near Penrith. The children, aged from two to four years old, have access to an enclosed outdoor play area and the staff decided the youngsters would benefit greatly from a climbing frame and slide.

As the centre is a charity run organisation independent of the school, the staff began to raise funds to buy a suitable piece of equipment. When the Rotary Club in Penrith heard of the problem they made an immediate donation towards the cost of the new plaything.

The sequel to this occurred at this week’s meeting of the Penrith Rotary Club at the George Hotel,  when President Malcolm Boyd presented a cheque to Erin and Finn Smith , seen here with their mother Gill.
