Last August’s exhibition at Kirkby Stephen by local artists was such a phenomenal success that it is to be repeated over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 6 April to Sunday 8 April, 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. This will coincide with other local festivities including the Classic Commercial Vehicle Rally.
Authur Littlefair has again kindly agreed to donate the use of his premises in Market Street which proved to be such an ideal gallery space. A donation from sales will be given to Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue as last year.
The forthcoming exhibition will include the work of mainly amateur artists that are members of local art clubs and groups from Brough, Kirkby Stephen and Appleby. The well established Ormside group has also agreed to join them for this event.
There will additionally be a selection of local craft workers. Young people from the Eden Youth Work Partnership young enterprise scheme are being given the opportunity to exhibit for the first time and will include Adam Reynolds, aged 16, who started his photography business, Eagle.Eye.Cameras.uk in 2010. Adam has taken official photographs for a number of local organisations and is also a Fine Art photographer in the local area.
There will be a preview evening on Thursday 5 April for the exhibitors and invited guests to celebrate the occasion.
