Fly by Night is a playful aerial dance show themed around sleep, dreams and bedtime is coming to Eden this Saturday, March 24. The show is touring as part of Highlights Rural Touring Scheme’s spring programme and can be enjoyed by pre school children and their families at Centre 67 in Appleby.
T he show was created with play at heart and family in mind by Newcastle based, Bared Toed Dance Company. It combines playful creativity, aerial dance and physical theatre to make sensory experiences that engage young children and their parents. Serenaded by sounds from a musical bed, dancers run with the moon, snooze in the air and fly to the top of the stairs of a purpose made, interactive set designed to encourage little ones to dance, fly, play and make music.
The Bare Toed Dance Company is based at Dance City, Newcastle and comprises 3 experienced performers Lynn Campbell, Rachel Kurtz and Jo Templey. Live music is provided by associate artist and musician Keith Mills. Their work is supported by a wealth of knowledge and research into child development, creativity and movement and by their collective experience of primary and special needs teaching, workshops and residences in aerial and dance techniques.
Toni Spence, promoter at Centre 67 said “This will be a great opportunity young children and their families to see professional dance theatre, aimed at younger audiences. This is our first promotion with Highlights and we hope to continue the partnership”
