Rural cinema ready to hit the road

Eden Arts new rural touring cinema project is now ready to accept villages to sign up to the scheme. The project, titled REMOTE is all about getting village communities to organise and run their own cinema events working alongside local young people and with full support of Eden Arts.

Funding from the Big Lottery will enable Eden Arts to buy brand new cinema equipment and help young people and adults to set up organising committees to run their own cinema events. While the films will not be the latest releases, the project aims to encourage communities to programme films that can become an event or themed evening, so perhaps will include dressing up, live music or having food related to the film that will be showing.

Eden Arts will be hosting two open meetings for individuals, groups and village hall committees to find out more about the project on Wednesday 25th April in the Supper Room at Appleby Public Hall and Thursday 26th April at The Soup Shop, Devonshire Arcade, Penrith. Both meetings start at 7pm.

Please RSVP to heather@edenarts.co.uk or call 01768 899444 to confirm your attendance.
