The Mayor of Appleby expressed the good wishes of the residents of the town to the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee with a royal address from the balcony of the Moot Hall.
Mayor Dot Anderton paid tribute to the Queen and Prince Phillip as a crowd of well wishers gathered outside the Moot Hall in the centre of Appleby. The address included thanks for the visit the young Queen and her husband made to the town in 1956.
Three cheers were given to the Queen by the town councillors and those attending the official royal address.
