Due to unforeseen circumstances the Kirkby Stephen and District Swimming Club will be unable to open the Kirkby Stephen Community Pool as planned this week.
The opening was originally scheduled for Monday 11th June, but has faced set backs due to boiler issues at the Grammar School, which have provided the pool heating since it was established in the 1960’s.
The swimming club committee members and school are working hard to rectify the situation and hope to open the pool doors as soon as possible. This is a major disappointment for the pool and the local community, information will be released as soon as possible for the new opening date.
