The Chief Executive of Eden District Council has said there will be no collections from 2 to 16 July due to staff illness of the people who work on the contract who were due to transfer from Carlisle City Council to the new contractor, Cumbria Waste Recycling Limited today.
Cumbria Waste Recycling will employ and train new people to undertake the work so that it can commence on 17 July until such time as the permanent employees return back to work. This is a disappointment to us all and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.
If you are able to retain the green waste until your normal collection day after 17 July, then put it out for collection then please do so or alternatively, you can take it to Flusco or Kirkby Stephen Household Recycling Centres.
