A 44-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving two motorcycles near Alston..The Great North Air Ambulance from Penrith and emergency services attended the scene near Slaggyford, Alston on Sunday afternoon.
It is thought the injured woman is from Durham.She was flown by air ambulance to the major trauma centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
