Harley Davidson biker dies three weeks after crash

Following an road traffic collision on Wednesday 8 August 2012 at Hutton in the Forest, the driver of the motorcycle involved sadly died yesterday at Cumberland Infirmary. At 4:10 pm on Wednesday 8 August 2012, a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Honda CR-V car were involved in a collision on the B5305 at Hutton in the Forest. Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist was taken to CIC with serious injuries, no one else was injured in the collision.

The motorcyclist, David John Prior, aged 56, from Soulby died yesterday (28 August 2012) morning.

His family have paid tribute to a caring and witty man. Mr Prior’s brother, Stephen, said: “David was a huge part of his local community having spent his younger year at Pooley Bridge and then working for JT Atkinson’s Builders merchants, formally Thomas Althams for over 25 years.

“In recent months his new Harley Davidson was his pride and joy having wanted to own one for the past 40 years. David was a loving member of the family, adored for his caring and witty nature. He will be greatly missed, by me and his two nieces, Annabel and Katie, but will be remembered forever.
