Cumberland Farmers hunt members successful at Burghley

Cumberland Farmers’ Hunt (South) Branch of the Pony Club nominated two Members to represent the Branch at the recent Mini Burghley Event Pony competition, held during the recent Burghley Horse Trials: Becky Thompson from Armathwaite and “Finn” were placed 7th in section one of the Mini Burghley Event Pony competition on a score of 148.  Finn is a horse which Becky and her mother have brought on themselves and with whom they have enjoyed much recent success.  They have also qualified for the Search for a Star Competition at Horse of the Year Show this autumn.

Hannah Parkin from Penrith and “Rocco” were also nominated by CFHS and were placed 4th in section two of the Mini Burghley Event Pony competition. Nikkita Guy of Newby, Penrith qualified for the Burghley Event Pony Mountain and Moorland Section on “Caroworth Pensive”, a Welsh Section D pony owned by Mrs Carole Hasting of Cockermouth.  Nikkita, who is 12, was one of the youngest members in a mostly adult class and was placed a creditable 4th, she has only been riding this pony since March this year.
