Things are hoting up in the kitchen as young chefs prepare for the semi final of The Leading Individual Hotels of Cumbria Young Chef Competition today Sunday, November 27 at Overwater Hall, Ireby, Cumbria, EnjoyEngland’s Small Hotel of the Year in the Northwest 2010.
The four semi finalists will be cooking a three course Sunday Luncheon from 10am until 12.30pm when lunch will be served.
After lunch at approximately 1.30pm the two finalists will be announced. All four semi finalists will receive embroidered Chef’s Jackets as a memento of the occasion and they will be cooking lunch for their families and Food Technology Teachers as well as the two judges - Barney Cunliffe from EnjoyEngland’s Small Hotel of the Year 2010 Gilpin Lodge, Windermere) and Pat Jones from Swanson House, Brough which has a strong reputation for food which is locally sourced and freshly cooked to order.
The final of the competition will be held on Sunday, February 5 2012 at multi-award winning Augill Castle, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria which is lead sponsor of the competition. On this occasion we will be delighted to have Rory Stewart MP on the judging panel.
