Charity antiques valuation day to benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer

An expert team of valuers from Tennant’s Auctioneers will be holding an Antiques Valuation Day at Hayes Garden World in Ambleside on Tuesday 1 May 2012. Anyone with curiosities, heirlooms or something recently unearthed in the attic, is invited to bring their objects, (or photos in the case of very large items), along to the event, where Tennant’s specialist team will be on hand to offer expert valuations and guidance on future preservation and insurance. A nominal valuation fee of £2 per item is suggested, which will be donated in full to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.

Organiser, Alison Tennant of Tennant’s Auctioneers commented: “We always enjoy coming to Ambleside as we have unearthed some really interesting finds in the past. Our team of experts will hopefully include Adam Schoon, who regularly appears on the BBC Antiques Roadshow. We are all hoping to make some interesting discoveries and build on the very impressive £800 we were able to contribute last year to The Great North Air Ambulance appeal”.

The Valuation Day event, which is open to all, takes place between 10am and 4pm at
Hayes Garden World, Lake Road, Ambleside, on Tuesday 1st May 2012.
