Great North Swim postponed to Sunday

The British Gas Great North Swim 2 mile event will take place tomorrow (Sunday) after being postponed due to bad weather.With forecasts of strong gusting winds and torrential rain the event organisers, Nova International, decided to delay the start of the event on Lake Windermere. It's the UK's biggest outdoor swim event.
The programme of 2 mile events is intended to run on Sunday afternoon, with weather conditions being monitored on a regular basis.

All swimmers will be offered a full refund of their event entry fee if they are unable to participate.Nova International spokesman David Hart said: "We are sorry to delay the 2 mile event by 48 hours and fully understand the inconvenience this will cause, but the safety and well-being of our participants will always be our number one priority.".
