£10,000 damage caused to Cumbrian restaurant by arsonists

More than £10,000 damage was caused to a restaurant in Keswick  when arsonists set fire to a wheelie bin. The fire on Saturday morning damaged equipment on a wall of the Old Keswickian chip shop in Market Place. Last week there were a number of similar fires in the town.

A spokeswoman for Cumbria Police said a bin close to a property was set alight and damage in excess of  £10,000 was caused. A section of the downstairs dining area has been closed while repairs to electrical equipment are carried out.
