Cumbrian kitchenware giant gets stamp of approval from Trading Standards

One of Cumbria’s most successful and trusted businesses has become a member of Cumbria County Council’s Trading Standards ‘Buy With Confidence' scheme in recognition of their fair and honest business practices. Lakeland will be presented with an official ‘Buy With Confidence’ certificate on Wednesday 17 October, 11am at the Windermere store (all press invited).

Businesses that can prove they deal fairly with their customers and provide the highest standards of customer service can join the Trading Standards approved trader scheme. The Windermere based company is one of the UK’s leading kitchenware companies with a huge online market and more than 60 stores up and down the country, with more planned.

Each business that joins Buy with Confidence has been individually vetted and approved by Trading Standards to ensure they operate in an honest way and in compliance with consumer protection laws. Only if they pass stringent checks are they accepted onto the scheme and can display the Buy With Confidence logo.

Angela Jones, Cumbria County Council’s Trading Standards Manager, said: “The scheme is a chance for the many honest, hardworking and reputable businesses in Cumbria to show their customers that they are committed to fair trading. Any Cumbrian business, large or small, and in any sector can apply to join the scheme.

“We are always looking for new Members so if you know a trustworthy trader who you think would benefit from joining the scheme please contact us.”

Wendy Miranda, Lakeland's Customer Ambassador, said: "We're delighted to join the Trading Standards'Buy With Confidence Scheme'. Customer satisfaction and service is incredibly important to us at Lakeland and we're very proud that we have been accepted into the scheme which will no doubt prove to be an invaluable tool for consumers deciding where to shop."
