Flood defences are to be strengthened in a Cumbria village as part of a £500,000 project.
Over the last five years Low Crosby, near Carlisle, has been hit by floods, with 46 homes particularly at risk.
Now the Environment Agency is to carry out an upgrade, strengthening roads and improving drainage systems.
The village will also get two new banks to protect it from the River Eden. Work gets under way in November and will take five months to complete
