HER first international performance was with Lionel Ritchie in Amsterdam, she’s performed with top
stars including Shirley Bassey and she was part of the team who danced in Beijing in 2000 for the
2008 Olympic bid – now Charlotte Young amongst numerous other teaching roles provides Zumba
fitness class for over 16’s in and around Carlisle.
Charlotte, 30 began dancing at the Robinson Read School of Dance in Lancaster and continued to
train there when she moved to Carlisle age 12. At 16 she went on to train at Performers College in
Essex under the direction of Brian Rogers and Susan Stephens.
This further education college for performing arts gave Charlotte the solid foundation for musical
Theatre and Commercial style teaching through the ISTD syllabus.
Charlotte continues to develop her craft and holds the WORLD’s first accredited and authentic
Street Dance teacher training qualification in the whole of Cumbria, Scotland and the North East
through Urban Strides, She also holds a Level 4 teaching qualification and Certificate in Safe and
Effective Dance Practice with Trinity College London, these qualifications give her classes a fun and
knowledgeable edge.
Charlotte has had worked as a dancer, choreographer and performer for Theatres such as the
London Palladium, TV shows including The Brian Conley Show, Blue Peter and CITV and other
special events such as the Queen Mothers 100th Birthday Celebration in 2000 and many charity
events at prestigious Hotels such as the Grosvenor House Hotel, The Savoy and The Dorchester in
London.
Charlotte became hooked on Zumba last year and completed her Zumba Instructor training in May
2011 and now wants people to share her passion for dance and fitness and believes Zumba is the
perfect combination making exercise fun and enjoyable!
Classes held on Friday’s at Warwick-on-Eden Village Hall from 6pm to 7pm.
