South Lakes MP, Tim Farron, has welcomed news that the Cumbria County Council South Lakeland Committee has awarded £3000 to the Grange Prom Youth Project to help fund massive improvements to the Grange-over-Sands skate park.
The South Lakeland Committee, led by Liberal Democrat County Councillor Geoff Cook, has been working with young people from the local area since the initial planning and design stage. They are now looking to expand the variety of equipment available in the skate park area.
Many young people have approached Tim about skate parks in South Lakeland. Tim has been working closely with local councillors and is delighted to see this funding is helping to improve facilities for young people in Grange.
He said: “This is wonderful news for young people in Grange and I am incredibly happy that our hardworking councillors on the South Lakeland Committee have made such important efforts to include young people at every stage.
