MP and MEP team up to get Cumbria's opinion

Liberal Democrat MP Tim Farron and MEP Chris Davies are asking residents their views in a groundbreaking new survey. The survey, being delivered by volunteers across southern Cumbria, seeks opinions from constituents on issues including the environment, housing, the EU and the economy. The parliamentarians have also included a petition form to keep up the pressure on the government to bring a radiotherapy unit to Kendal.

Feedback from the survey will be added to the information that Tim and Chris get from Tim’s annual summer surgery tour and their regular door knocking sessions. The survey also gives people the opportunity to get involved in campaigns or receive further news about the next steps that Tim and Chris will take for you in this area.

Tim says: “Both Chris and I are always eager to listen to new ideas and take on board your views so that when the time comes for decision-making in our respective parliaments, we can wholeheartedly say that we are projecting a very accurate representation of the views of our constituents.

“The issues mentioned on the survey are important in our campaign to further improve our local area, and taking the time to fill it in would greatly increase the probability of further action being taken in Cumbria.”

Chris said, “Tim and I work together with your Liberal Democrat councillors as a team to get things done for Cumbria. The European Parliament has a real impact on lives in Cumbria and I want to make sure we get it right.”
