The Olympic spirit came to a health centre in Workington as Team GB archer Alan Wills attended an exhibition of his London 2012 memorabilia to say thanks to NHS Cumbria for their support. Alan, whose mother Lesley Wills is the Senior Locality Nurse at Ann Burrow Thomas Health Centre in Workington. The display of Olympic items was held in the boardroom of the Health Centre on the day the Olympic flame was set to be rekindled for the Paraolympic Games in London, August 29.
Lesley said: “I was asked by some of my senior colleagues if I had any Olympic memorabilia that I could bring in . However I thought I could do better than that and do a small exhibition of Olympic memorabilia and of course my son Alan’s achievements. We are all so proud of him.”
“We just wanted to say thanks for the support of NHS Cumbria staff which Alan has received."
