Kingstown businesses get together to encourage trade.

Five businesses based in Kingstown, Carlisle are joining forces to encourage other business owners and trades people in the area to get out of the office and meet each other. Ultimate Security and Investigation, Nortech Communications, Keyishoes, Lloyds Motor Group and Premier Inn, Junction 44 are working together to launch a new networking group to encourage businesses to work with others locally and seek opportunities for mutual business.

“Know Your Neighbours” will be hosted by Premier Inn on the estate. Recently appointed Operations Manager Andrew Newell is looking forward to the chance to meet his clientele. Premier Inn will be showcasing their Christmas offering by providing complimentary canapés and a free glass of wine.

Lloyd Motor Group is offering the use of a Volvo XC90 for a weekend in a prize draw. The 7 seat 4x4 has won numerous awards and is a luxury all wheel drive vehicle. David Martin, Corporate Sales Manager for Lloyd Motor Group said "We hope this prize helps convince people to come along to what promises to be a fabulous event for all Kingstown and Kingmoor businesses. Networking is still a fairly new concept for many local business people but it really is just getting to know people. The old adage that people buy from people still stands today thank goodness and whatever business you are in it surely makes sense to work with your neighbours."

Nortech Communications are also giving away a prize, a Samsung tablet computer. Fiona Harland, business manager at Nortech believes tablets are changing the way people do business, “With thousands of business applications now available for tablets, they are becoming the business tool of choice. The android platform allows users to pick a device which best suits their needs.”

Simon Richardson of Keyishoes has owned a business on Kingstown for nearly three years and said, “The Kingstown & Kingmoor business community is amazingly diverse and combines industry, commerce and retail, both small and large, all in close proximity to each other. There is huge potential to contribute to the local business community by getting to know our neighbours, do business with them ourselves and share our learned knowledge of our neighbours with our own customers by referral. Getting involved in the Know Your Neighbours initiative will be a fantastic benefit to all!

Greg Kelly of Ultimate Security & Investigations said, “The five companies driving this already benefit from reciprocal business arrangements. There are clear opportunities for all local firms, not only to do business but to make valuable contacts and learn from each other. To begin with you need to know your neighbours so I encourage them all to come along.”

Know Your Neighbour take place on Wednesday 3rd October from 5pm. Anyone who would like to attend is asked to register by Wednesday 26th September at http:// knowyourneighbours.eventbrite.com/
