Carlisle College students launch music album

Carlisle College Music Technology and Production students are set to launch their very own albums at an event later this week as part of their end of year assessment.Five students from the Level 3 course are each set to launch their own individual albums on the night including; Will, Ben Milligan, Jacqueline, Kira and Aaron Castro.

The event, on Friday 19 May, will be held at The Source Collective on Nelson Street, Denton Holme. The Source Collective has been at the helm of some of Carlisle's greatest art and music developments and this event is to be no different, providing the perfect platform for such acoustic singer-songwriter events.

The album launch celebrates the student’s completion of producing their own albums and is just one of the hands on projects which students enrolled on the Music Technology and Production course can get involved in, as well as recording live bands and producing music on music software. Each allows the opportunity to broaden student’s skills and knowledge in music recording and production.

The Music Department within Carlisle College is part of the recently developed Carlisle College of the Arts and boasts excellent purpose built facilities with over £5m invested. Equipment includes top of the range recording equipment and software, an array of musical and technological instruments, rehearsal rooms, recording studios, media editing suites and a theatre.

Josh Jackson, Level 3 student who is part of the album launch said; ''This is the first time that we have all recorded an album. The experience will help me to continue growing as a performer and develop my personal style further. I'm also finding that the project is helping me to feel more prepared for university as I'm learning new skills and working as a team. It’s a great opportunity to see first-hand what it may be like to organise another gig, record another album and promote it in the future.''

Tickets for the album launch event cost £5 and will be available on the door. Doors open at 7pm
