The family of Matthew Hamilton, aged 15 from Carlisle, who sadly died on Sunday 2nd September have paid tribute to their “loveable, bright, cherished son, brother, nephew and cousin.” On Sunday the 2nd September 2012 at 6:05 pm Brunel Way, Carlisle, Matthew was riding a pushbike with friends, from the path leading from Harraby Grove onto Brunel Way. A collision occurred between Matthew and a Green Renault megane, driven by a 44 year local man.
Police and the Ambulance service attended the scene and as a result of his injuries Matthew was taken to Carlisle Infirmary. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Matthew died of his injuries.
Matthew’s parents, Emma and Derek, said “Matthew was well liked and loved by all his friends. He had a passion for life and was dedicated to his family.
“Matthew spent all his life in the Harraby area of Carlisle. He went to Inglewood Primary School followed by Richard Rose Academy. He was well liked and loved by his many friends at the school. He adored his dogs and taking them for walks and he was forever out on his bike to socialise with his friends.
“The whole family are very proud of Matthew. He was a happy go lucky lad who enjoyed life. Matthew will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him, including his brothers and sisters, Andrew, Daniel, Sarah, Mark, Kaitlyn and Isaac.
