European achievement award for Stobart airport

London Southend airport owned by the Carlisle based Stobart Group  has won a European achievement award for the second time in three years.The airport has been awarded the ERA (European Regions Airline Association) Airport Achievement Award 2012/13.
It recognises the best achievements over the previous 12 months and the positive role it has played in support of future European air transport operations. Previous winners include Munich, Nantes Atlantique and London City airports.

Judges said London Southend was picked as the winner in recognition of the number of major projects the airport has completed in a relatively short space of time, and its focus on customer service.Stobart Group is hoping to run passenger flights from Carlisle airport to Southend, by next year.
