Police can confirm that the body of the man who was found on Monday 8th October near Cargo, Carlisle, was George Hetherington. Mr Hetherington, aged 69 from King Garth, Cargo was found after a large multi-agency searched was launched after concerns were raised about his welfare.
Tragically he was found dead close to the River Eden, in an area north of Cargo. His immediately family have been informed and there are no suspicious circumstances. The case has been passed to the coroner.
