Police continue to question six suspects in connection with murder investigation

Detectives are continuing to piece together the circumstances which led up to a man being attacked and killed on Sunday 14 October 2012 at 6 am in the morning. House to house enquiries have been completed, four vehicles have been seized for forensic examination, five premises have been searched and members of the public have spoken to investigating officers.

Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody. Warrants of further detention have been obtained from Carlisle Magistrates Court to keep the five suspects who were arrested first in custody.

Police are encouraging police to come forward and speak to officers about the circumstances leading up to the incident

DCI Paul Duhig said: “We believe that some members of the Polish community are aware of what happened to escalate a situation which ended in tragic circumstances. We are offering support to any member of the public who has information which could assist in the investigation. It is vital that we piece together everything which happened in order to gain a clear picture of the events which unfolded that led to Mr Kunlinski’s death.
