Wildlife Crime Officers from Cumbria Constabulary have charged Allan Armistead, 74, of Oxen Park, Ulverston with five offences under the Firearms Act and ten offences under the Control of Pesticides and Food and Environmental Protection Acts.
This follows an investigation into illegal poisoning and shooting of several Red Kites in the Ulverston area in late 2010 and early 2011.
Mr Armistead is due to appear at Furness and District Magistrates court on 6 December 2011.
