Key issues facing businesses and employers with changes and new developments in employment legislation will top the agenda at three half day seminars to be staged by Baines Wilson LLP, the specialist commercial law firm based in Cumbria.
Businesses will be provided with practical advice covering long term ill health dismissals, new developments over sickness absence and holidays plus general changes since the implementation of The Equality Act 2010.
Joanne Holborn, Head of Employment Law and Training at Baines Wilson
said: "Absence remains a perennial problem for employers, and we will be advising employers on the best way to be proactive in managing long-term sick employees.
"Also what holidays an employee is entitled to when they are off sick is an area where the law keeps constantly changing; we are, therefore, going to provide an update.
"Our Employment Law team will explain the latest and forthcoming changes in the complex area of employment law and will update you on changes and developments for 2012. We are also delighted to welcome Pete Monaghan, Area Director of ACAS to provide an update on early conciliation and the proposed changes to the ACAS Code of Practice."
"It is great for Cumbrian businesses that they will have the opportunity of hearing of the latest developments in ACAS from Pete and to be able to ask him questions in relation to issues directly affecting him."
The third seminar is being held in conjunction with Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. Their spokesperson added: "We are always looking at new opportunities to work with members on events and activities in the district and are delighted to partner with Baines Wilson on the Employment Law Seminar. We hope to see many Chamber members in attendance."
