London branch of Blues supporters club celebrate in Carlisle

The London Branch of Carlisle United Football Club are set to join Peter Murphy and a host of celebrities, business’s and fans for the St Patricks Sportsman’s dinner.
The London branch now in its 37th season and with over 350 members provide exiled supporters with a sense of belonging to the northern club. They help members get tickets assist with travel arrangements, have daily updates for fans and members on their website, socialise with fellow supporters and regularly make the long journey to join the Carlisle fans on the terraces. Recently the branch enjoyed a reception at the Houses of Parliament hosted by Carlisle MP John Stevenson.
Every season the branch donates money to Carlisle United Football Club, sponsor a game in addition to sponsoring David Wilkes. This year they have launched the “Shine a light” appeal to help support the club with the upgrade of the floodlights at Brunton Park selling a selection of merchandise, badges etc.
Simon Clarkson Chairman of London Branch said “We are delighted to be able to support Peter in this his Testimonial Year as a stalwart player he deserves his place in the history of Carlisle United. As a passionate defender, player and team mate he has represented the club and the City with dignity. The London branch joined him on ‘Mothers Day’ in 2011 at Wembley to see him score the winning goal in the Johnstone Paint Trophy Final and looking forward to joining the Dubliner again this year on Mothers day for the       St Patrick’s night dinner which I am sure will be a triumph of a different kind but certainly a night to celebrate!”
The dinner on Sunday 18th March the day after St Patricks Day is being held at the Shepherds Inn, Carlisle is sponsored by the Award winning Vibralife Health Club & Fitness Clinic and co sponsored by London Branch CUFC, Dempsey’s Restaurant, Cumbria Waste Management and Dodd & Co.
A number of companies also attending include City Electrical Factors, Thomas Graham, Tamlight, Parkland FC, Andalusia, Carlisle Leisure ltd to name but a few.
