George Beveridge, sellafield Ltd Deputy Managing Director presented the Customer Service award at the Young Enterprise North West Finals at Manchester Airport on Thursday, 21 June.
The scheme allows 15-17 year olds from local schools to participate in the setting up and running of their own business, allowing them to sell shares, develop products and sell to the public. Students are encouraged to develop an understanding of business operations, with each student taking on one of a number of roles in management, sales, marketing, production or finance.
Sellafield Ltd's Ian Belger, pictured acted as judge at the Cheshire Finals, presenting the Best Presentation award to Inzamam Rashid from ‘4 Seasons’ Appleton College.
They have to develop business plans, financial accounts and to present at local and area finals, with the chance for the best company to progress to national and European finals, competing against Young Enterprise companies from many other countries.
Sellafield Ltd has a number of volunteers who act as business advisors and judges within the scheme and is delighted to support this initiative.
