The recently refurbished Plough Inn and restaurant at Lupton near Kirkby Lonsdale is appealing to the local community to share their wedding stories and photographs to form a special ‘montage of memories’ at an Open Day on Saturday October 8.
Couples past and present are being urged to send in photographs of their own nuptials or wedding celebrations that they - or their family - attended over the years at the historic Inn, which dates back to at least 1851.
After an extensive refurbishment lasting over 12 months, the popular Inn reopened for food and drink in June 2010 and has recently completed five new stylish and luxurious rooms, and obtained a brand new licence to hold full marriage ceremonies at The Plough.
The Open Day on Saturday October 8 will give the local community and prospective brides and grooms- to be a special opportunity to look around the new rooms and all of the facilities on offer at The Plough. There will also be champagne and wine tasting, local food demonstrations, floral displays and much more.
All wedding photographs and stories that have been sent in will be displayed for people to come along and reminisce over. Everyone attending on the day will also be invited to vote for their favourite and the most popular entries will win the following great prizes:
· 1st prize: An overnight stay plus dinner on their wedding anniversary
· 2nd prize: Dinner on their wedding anniversary
· 3rd prize: A bottle of Mumm champagne
To be in with the chance of winning, people need to send a wedding photograph along with the date the couple in question got married, and a short memory about the afternoon or evening event at The Plough to: ‘Montage of Memories’, The Plough Inn, Cow Brow, Lupton, Cumbria, LA6 1PJ.

Abi Lloyd, Manager of The Plough, Lupton, said: “Since re-opening our doors just over 12 months ago, we have had a great response from locals, many of whom remember The Plough from years gone by and have lots of fascinating stories to share.
“The Plough has always been a really popular place to have wedding celebrations and we would love to hear from all those people that have spent part of their special day here, or even from children and grandchildren who have had stories and photographs passed down through generations.
“We want to continue to make weddings at The Plough a special occasion for all involved and there is no better way to do this than by sharing past experiences with our wedding guests of the future.”
The Plough at Lupton can cater for up to 100 guests for exclusive use weddings and will work with couples to ensure that their special day is individually tailored to be unique and memorable.
