ITV Daybreak spent the afternoon filming at Trotters World of Animals for this weeks feature on holidaying in Britain. It features on ITV Daybreak on Thursday 19th July (7.20am & 8.20am) when their programme will be live from Blackpool. Ex Coronation Street star Tina O’Brian and her 3½ year old daughter Scarlett road tested the park for the feature called ‘Mums Holiday postcard’. They spent time seeing the Tapirs, Zebra’s, Gibbons and feeding the Meerkats and ended the afternoon with a hug from Bugs the bunny.
Richard Robinson, Park Manager said “The crew were very excited when they got here, the sun was shining and our range of wildlife took them by surprise. Tina had chance to meet Muffin our Tapir and Scarlet fell in love with our four Zebras, but it was feeding the Meerkats that made her day – and having chance to hold the white rabbit. Tina was also really interested in the Hawk Walks, but it’s not a children’s activity so we have invited her back another day.”
Tina O’Brian said “We’ve been filming all day but I think we saved the best til last - it’s a lovely place to bring a family. Scarlet came alive when she saw the animals, it’s just a shame we didn’t have more time.”
The ITV producers were also interested in the animal that may have babies later in the year and have asked Richard to keep in touch with them for a possible follow up.
