Police seek hit and run driver after horse is killed

A horse worth £3,000 has been killed on a fell road after being hit by a vehicle whose driver did not stop, Cumbria police say.The gelding,was struck sometime between Sunday and Tuesday on Cold Fell, near Ennerdale.
It was owned by Bradley Stables and was allowed to roam free on the fell. The horse was found by the owner when fog cleared. Police say the driver failed to stop or report the incident and are appealing for information.

The horse's owners had raised concerns previously about driving on the fell road.
