The family of Paul Fursey who died following a road accident at Great Broughton last night (2 October 2012) have paid tribute to a “keen motorcyclist”, who had a “newly found passion for life.” At 11:23 pm police were called to a traffic collision at the junction of the A66 at the Caldron Hill Road, Great Broughton. As a result of the collision, Paul Fursey, aged 31 from Bolton-low-Houses, who was riding a Yamaha motorcycle received injuries and despite efforts by the paramedics, tragically died at the scene.
Also involved was a MG Rover. The driver, a 23 year old man from Dearham was taken to Whitehaven Hospital with leg injuries. The family of Mr Fursey said: “It is with great sadness that Paul has so tragically been taken from us. A keen motorcyclist for several years with a newly found passion for life. Paul who loved both home and work life will be sorely missed by his partner Kath, his mother and two brothers.”
The Western Roads Policing Unit at Workington Police Station are asking for any witnesses to the incident to contact either PC 1312 David Edwards or PC 1544 Lewis Powell at Workington Police Station on 101.
